For most people struggling with excess weight issues shedding that extra fat can be challenging, but weight loss for women seems to be more difficult. A lot of women have great difficulty when it comes to losing body fat because of the many responsibilities that they have. This leaves little time for them to commit to an exercise or fitness regimen. Not to say that they have no concern for their health or looks. Unfortunately some women fall into the trap of fad diets or dangerous diet pil

Yoga For Inflexible People

Yoga For Inflexible People is for anyone who considers themselves inflexible. The yoga postures developed 5,000 years ago were not created for people who are already flexible, but rather to help inflexible people become more flexible. A wide range of poses are taught and modified to help both beginning and intermediate students experience the benefits of yoga. The modifications includes suggestions for the use of props, which can be either actual yoga props or items you have around the home, such as a belt or books, to assist you when you feel you need additional assistance. Of course if you do not need props, you do not have to use any.

Customized workouts allow you to progress at your own pace and the DVD contains dozens of routines which designed to carefully guide you along your journey into yoga.

When Yoga For Inflexible People was released, the Yoga Journal declared it “One of the most intelligent and useful presentations served up in a long time” and praised it as a DVD “…for all beginning students whether they are inflexible or flexible.”

Yoga For Inflexible People continued to be commended as the Yoga Journal rated the DVD as one the Top Yoga DVDs ever produced. (December 2006)

1 Star My pillow needs a pillow. Completely useless, unless you count it as a sleeping aid.
I actually purchased this video to ease my less than flexible boyfriend into yoga. Unfortunately, this DVD was so dull that its sorta soured his experience with the whole thing.

The DVD creator’s idea of “yoga for inflexible” people is comprised of a whole lot of standing around with outstretched arms and legs. Not even joking. Yes, this DVD is targeted for inflexible people - but I think that she could have challenged them with a little more than that. If you are looking for yoga for beginner inflexible people - please look elsewhere. In fact, if you do come across a good source, please let me know because I’m still on the search for a good DVD to introduce him to the world of yoga without putting him to sleep.

5 Stars Worked Well
The limited flexibility I had when I was younger has gone and it was starting to impact me when trying to do things, runs made my legs hurt more and picking things up became more of a chore, so I wanted to gain some back.

Working with this DVD has improved things alot. It is very easy to understand and use, most of the time I use the legs section (just pick it from the menu) and up comes about 6 routines to work with. Other sections focus on other aspects.

The pace is just right so that I can follow along without feeling rushed or that I am missing something and it gives me time to get into the pose.

Great to work with.

5 Stars Yoga for Inflexible People
Very satisfied with this DVD. I am a beginner at age 59. Wish I had started yoga at least ten years ago because many of the poses are still quite difficult but I’m hoping with practice, I will get more flexible. There are lots of individual routines (35+) to work on different parts of the body.

1 Star Painfully boaring. I want my money back.
If this DVD were my first experience with Yoga, it would likely be my last. Thank goodness it is not. Boaring, boaring, boaring. I want my money back.

5 Stars A great value
I’m blown away by how much is on this DVD. Over 30 different yoga sessions ranging from 15 minutes to over an hour. I’m just getting started with yoga and I would say I’m starting at a very remedial level. There is instruction on the DVD that is perfect for me. There is also enough here that I’m sure I will be using the DVD for many months and years to come.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars highly recommended
This is a great book for anyone with back or neck problems, either chronic or occasional. The author, a physical therapist, offers a set of exercises to do regularly to treat or avoid these problems, along with lots of other advice. My pain management doctor recommended these stretches to me, and because of them, I was able to avoid getting an epidural. The only caution: talk to your regular doctor before beginning this regimen, which is generally a good idea with any new physical activity.

5 Stars Instant Relief
I tried the exercises in this book for lower back pain and was astonished to find that the pain had just disappeared after only 5 minutes of exercising. After taking anti-inflammatories of all sorts for 5 weeks, I had not been able to get rid of the pain. Performing the exercises repeatedly for a few days made me get rid of the pain for good. Nowadays, if I have the slightest back pain coming I perform the exercises immediately and the pain goes away.

5 Stars Saved me from surgery!
I was preparing for surgery, and I searched once more for alternatives. The simple exercises in this book, along with other stretches for balance, have made an incredible improvement in my back pain!

5 Stars The only back/neck pain book you may ever need.
This superb text documents the methods for immediate recovery from either acute injury and strain to the neck or back, as well as recovery from long-term chronic pain of back or neck. Once pain is eliminated, there are steps for ensuring a lifetime of back and neck freedom.

This is not an exercise book, but rather teaches manipulations and stretches that specifically relieve the pressure in the discs of the back and neck, allowing them to repair themselves.

My personal experience involves over 20 years of chronic back pain, with a recent MRI confirming bulged discs in the lower back. (These methods will also allow ruptured discs to heal themselves as well…without surgery) The book was recommended by my boss, and in merely four weeks of religiously doing the recommended stretches (a 5 minutes session of back extensions every 2 hours), my pain has gone from a constant level of 8 or 9 (on a 10 scale) to a very manageable 2, with good evidence that I will be pain free in another month or two.

I recently went for a scheduled physical therapy appointment. My PT endorsed the McKenzie method and was trained in this method (among several others) and was not surprised that I had achieved the results noted above, given her strong endorsement of this technique.

Easy to read, the book provides a tailored strategy for your personal ve

1 Star don’t waste your money
Compared to other book I purchased this one was a waste of money and time. Poor format, uninteresting and dull.
